What is a Process Server?
About us
Trident Investigations Limited trading as Allied Detectives has been Process Serving in the Northampton area since 2006. Based in Daventry we personally cover the counties of Northamptonshire and Warwickshire. We provide a swift service for a variety of litigation matters. Our clients include Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Solicitors, Barristers and Private Individuals plus a multitude of large and small businesses and Corporations from across the UK and overseas.
Where service is not possible or where a respondents whereabouts are not known we also provide a comprehensive tracing service with a high success rate.
Why should I use a Process Server?
Q. So why can't I just post the documents?
A. You can; But there is no guarantee that the intended person has received them and the quickest way to avoid impending court action is to deny that they were received. Most people do not want to receive the documents we deliver and getting them identified and served can sometimes be tricky. Using a process server can speed up the litigation and save money in repeated correspondence from solicitors. If you have any reason to suspect that the respondent will be difficult then always use a Process Server.
Why choose us?
With a network of local agents through our trade association memberships we can cover the whole of the UK from our Northants office. We have a fixed rate process serve policy which suits most of our clients and this is for a standard serve non urgent serve. These serves are carried out as soon as is practical and normally the first attempt is made within 48hrs of receipt of the documents. Our price includes up to two attempts at service and the proof of service (Certificate, Statement of Service or Affidavit of Service as required) or Statement of Attempts in the case of non service.
For URGENT serves we charge a premium but attempts at service are made the same day (where possible) and always within 24 hours of receipt. Our fee includes up to two visits and the proof of service (or report in the case of a negative result). For most serves, two visits is sufficient however some respondents do go to great lengths not to be served.
Where extra visits are made to effect service on top of the two already made, we charge a flat fee + VAT per visit inclusive of our mileage. We are the only company that we know to do this, as many process servers will charge you a new full fee. On occasion (albeit rarely) it is agreed with the client in known difficult cases that we charge by the hour at our standard rate per person plus VAT and mileage. Pre-Instruction
Please ensure that we have enough time for service. If your deadline for service is less than 48 hours away please contact us by telephone. on 0845 643 1923. In some cases (but not all) we can serve faxed or scanned documents but please telephone us first to ensure we can receive the documents and allocate a local Process Server before the expiry of the paperwork.
Check the name of the person or organisation is correct, as only a Court Official can alter or amend any mistakes. Failure to get papers corrected could result in service being deemed invalid. We can not be held responsible for this and a charge for the service attempts will still be made.
Ensure the address is correct and complete. Any mistakes in the address will not invalidate your service but it may cause undue delays. Please include the full postcode.
- Please also include any further details which may assist us with our service attempts. In the event of service on an individual; their name, alternative address (work), date of birth or approximate age can be very useful as can any vehicle details. A photo of them is not always required but if you have one this could prove invaluable in the event of a dispute. In the even of service on a company please ensure that you provide us with the Registered Office address not the trading address as the two are often different.
- In the event of a high risk serve on a known violent individual(s) please contact us in advance by telephone as we may need more than one process server and possibly police involvement to effect peaceful service.
